Information Feedback
Asheville, once a tiny mountain village, is now a year-round resort and cultural center in central North Carolina. Once home to novelist Thomas Wolfe, the arts scene is still thriving, with regional music and art a large part of the city's life.

Airport Jet Service
Daily jet service on several carriers, including USAirways, ComAir and ASA, brings in visitors from all over the world to Asheville Regional Airport. The trip from the airport to downtown is a short one - just 15 minutes, and a variety of taxicab companies and shuttle services are available. Major rental car companies are also located at the airport.

Two major interstates, I-40 and I-26, intersect just outside the city limits. More motorists exit and enter the nation's most popular scenic highway, the Blue Ridge Parkway, in Asheville than at any other point along the road's 470 miles linking Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina.
